Know Better, Do Better

Tanya reminded us about the importance of knowing not just the culture, language, and geography of a specific song, but also to research the understand the context in which a song is performed within that culture. We must be mindful of songs that have a sacred or ritualistic function when choosing repertoire for our secular educational settings.

Work Smarter, Not Harder

Carrie has had success making Sub Plans on Google Slides. Not only is this a benefit for the sub by having everything easy to access and all in one place, it makes it easier to reuse those same sub plans for another class later on.

Coda

Carrie recommends the show Inventing Anna on Netflix.
