Know Better, Do Better
Tanya reminded us about the importance of knowing not just the culture, language, and geography of a specific song, but also to research the understand the context in which a song is performed within that culture. We must be mindful of songs that have a sacred or ritualistic function when choosing repertoire for our secular educational settings.
Work Smarter, Not Harder
Carrie has had success making Sub Plans on Google Slides. Not only is this a benefit for the sub by having everything easy to access and all in one place, it makes it easier to reuse those same sub plans for another class later on.
