Episode #205: Long-Range Plans

Main Theme: Long-Range Plans

Tips for creating Long-Range/Yearly Plans:

  1. Start with one grade level

  2. Determine how many times/classes you will have them this school year

  3. Plug in concert dates and preparation lessons for performances

  4. Avoid presenting new material at “distracted” times (weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas, for example)

  5. Determine PRESENT dates/classes

  6. Work backwards from present times for presentation lessons

  7. Add in holiday and seasonal considerations (ie: tika-tika is great in the fall)
